Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Flight Desk Pro (“the App”), you (“the CFI” or “Instructor”) agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.
These terms apply solely to the Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI) account holder. Client portal access is governed separately by the CFI’s responsibility as described in these terms.
2. CFI Responsibility for Minor Clients
By adding a client who is under the age of 18 to the App, you, as the CFI, affirm and represent that:
- You have obtained written parental or guardian consent for the collection, storage, and use of that minor client’s personal data within the App.
- You have retained documentation of that consent and will make it available upon request.
- You accept responsibility for ensuring the minor’s data is handled in accordance with applicable law, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) where applicable.
For clients under the age of 13, the App will not permit client portal login access. Training records may still be maintained by the CFI for such clients, but the client may not independently access the App.
3. Data Collected
The App collects and stores the following categories of information about clients:
- Personal identifiers: full name, date of birth, email address, phone number
- Government-issued ID references: certificate number, FAA tracking number (FTN), driver’s license, passport or birth certificate identifier
- Medical information: medical certificate class and exam date
- Training records: flight hours, solo dates, endorsements, stage check results, checkride dates and outcomes
- For minor clients: parent or guardian name and email address
This data is entered by the CFI and stored securely via Supabase.
4. Use of Data
Data collected through the App is used solely for the purpose of managing flight training records between the CFI and their clients.
We do not:
- Sell client data to any third party
- Share client data with advertisers or marketing services
- Use client data for any purpose beyond the operation of the App
Data may be processed by third-party infrastructure providers (Supabase) solely for the purpose of storage and delivery of App functionality.
5. Parental and Guardian Rights
Parents or legal guardians of minor clients have the following rights regarding their child’s data:
- The right to request access to the data the CFI has recorded about their child
- The right to request correction of inaccurate data
- The right to request deletion of their child’s data
Requests should be made directly to the CFI managing the client’s record. The CFI is responsible for honoring these requests in a timely manner.
6. Under-13 Restriction
The App does not provide client portal login access to individuals under the age of 13. A CFI may maintain training records for clients under 13 (e.g., for future reference or ground training purposes), but those clients may not create or use a client portal account.
If a CFI adds a client whose date of birth indicates they are under 13, the App will display a warning and require the CFI to acknowledge this restriction before saving the record.
7. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated to the CFI via an in-app announcement. Continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
It is the CFI’s responsibility to review these terms periodically.
